Wall plug-in suspected cause of residential fire Friday night

Last Friday night, Stettler Regional Fire Rescue responded to a possible structure fire on 54th Street in town.

On arrival at about 10:50 p.m., fire crews determined an odour of electrical burning might have been caused by a faulty wall plug-in.

There was no structural damage to the house and no injuries were reported.

On Wednesday, Jan. 18, Stettler Regional Fire Rescue responded to complaints of a grass fire north of Erskine at about 5:30 p.m.

Crews arrived on the scene and determined the fire was under control.

No further action was taken.

Also last Wednesday, Stettler Regional Fire Rescue, along with Big Valley Fire, responded to a structure fire south of Stettler on the Fritz Hill Road.

At about 6 p.m., fire crews were called to an electrical fire in the roof of the residence, and quick action from the homeowner and firefighters prevented the fire from spreading throughout the house.

Damage was minimal and there were no injuries.
