Two-vehicle collision briefly ties up traffic
At about 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Stettler Regional Fire Rescue responded to a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of 42nd Avenue and 62nd Street.
Both vehicles involved suffered front-end damage, but no injuries were reported.
Traffic was interrupted for a short while, as one vehicle leaked a large amount of anti-freeze onto the roadway, but fire crews worked quickly to stop the leak and clean up the spill.
One vehicle was still driveable, while the second had to be towed.
The cause of the collision is still under investigation.
Last Friday, Stettler Regional Fire Rescue responded to a possible chimney fire southwest of town, about three miles west of Highway 56. Fire crews arrived on the scene to find the fire in the chimney had been extinguished by the homeowners.
Stettler Fire investigated possible insulation damage in the attic and found only minimal heat damage to the structure. No injuries were reported.
On Saturday, Stettler Regional Fire Rescue responded to a possible structure in the Village of Botha.
The small fire was located under the deck of the residence and damage was very minimal to the structure. No cause has been determined as of yet.
On Monday, Stettler Regional Fire Rescue responded to a motor vehicle collision involving wildlife east of Stettler.
At about 7:20 p.m., fire crews were called to assist Stettler RCMP with a single vehicle leaking antifreeze after suffering frontal damage from striking two deer on the highway.
The lone occupant of the vehicle was uninjured and the vehicle was driven back into town. Road conditions at the time of the incident were clear and dry.
