Congratulations to Heath and Angie McCrindle on the birth of their daughter, Kenzie Lida, on Jan. 25 at the Red Deer hospital. Kenzie weighed seven pounds and six ounces, and is a little sister for Bryce. Congratulations also to the local grandparents, Eldon and Sharon McCrindle.
John and Carolin Schofer and their family Randy, Lenard and Rebecca, along with Carolin’s sister Bonnie, have returned home from a vacation to Mazatlan, Mexico. They were staying at the same resort where the Canadian woman was severely beaten and actually had met her before the unfortunate incident.
Tom and Bonnie McCrindle, along with Mike and Mary Jane Jackson, returned home Thursday from an enjoyable trip to Panama. They stayed at a resort near Panama City and also had the opportunity to take a boat ride down the 82-kilometre Panama Canal.
Congratulations to Buster Walker, now of Stettler but formerly a resident of Endiang and Byemoor, who celebrated his 85th birthday with an open house at the Byemoor Hall on Saturday afternoon.
Entertainment was provided by Randy Holler of Alberta Legends fame, and happy birthday was sung by his great-grandchildren. Guests were treated to birthday cake and a lovely lunch.
Buster is the eldest of the late Harry and Bessie Walker’s 13 children. We hope you have many more happy birthdays, Buster.
Krissy Jack and Carolin Schofer celebrated their 40th and 50th birthdays, respectively, at the Byemoor Hall with a social on Saturday evening.
Congratulations on your special milestone birthdays, girls. We hope you enjoyed your celebration.
As January draws to a close, we can consider ourselves fortunate for the predominately mild weather we enjoyed, with only one week of bitter cold.
Thought for the day: If you look like your passport photo, you probably need the trip.
