An early morning fire last week left much destruction in its wake at the farm of Dave and Luann Buchwitz east of Endiang.

A dairy barn that had been converted to a shop was totally consumed by the fire.

The Byemoor fire department responded first, with backup from the Big Valley and Stettler fire departments.

Although neither the building nor its contents could be saved, the fire was contained and prevented from spreading to the rest of the farmyard and feed stacks. Two tractors, a self-propelled swather, bale shredder, two sets of harness, welding equipment and all Dave’s tools were among the items lost in the blaze.

Our hearts go out to Dave and Luann in their devastating loss.
