Schnell rink wins bonspiel
Peek a Boo: Gail Green’s grandchildren Keira, 4, and Colby, 2, were peeking at the window of the Rimbey Curling Rink. Grandma had already lost her game and was out of the recent Town and Country Bonspiel but they still had fun pushing their noses against the glass.

An out-of-town team curled its way to victory at the Rimbey Town and Country Bonspiel held recently.
The Rick Schnell rink from Usona won the A event of the bonspiel held Jan. 5 to 8, defeating the Bryce Bennett rink from Ponoka.
The B event was won by the Jim Robertson rink, and the runner-up was the Gordon Sherwood rink.
The C event winner was the Lorne Kriz rink, and the Tom Tuelon rink was the runner-up.
Rimbey Curling Club president Marj Tisdale said 20 teams participated in the bonspiel with Rimbey Ford being the only local business to enter a team.
“We would like to thank them for their participation,” she said.
The remainder of the teams participating, with the exception of the out-of-town teams, came from the seniors, mixed, men’s and ladies’ leagues.
“It was an excellent spiel,” said Tisdale. “Fun was had by all and we had lots of positive comments about it.”
The seniors’ bonspiel is the next event planned, Feb. 6 to 10.
