Rimbey RCMP keep busy

In the last week, Rimbey RCMP were extremely busy and responded to more than 50 calls for service.
Stolen ATVs recovered
Mounties investigated numerous complaints of fraud, theft and harassment last week. Officers continue to follow up on leads concerning stolen ATV and snow machines in the Rimbey/Eckville area. A trailer was recovered this week with four stolen ATVs on it. Police are pursuing leads involving this matter.

Domestic matters investigated
Officers continue to investigate cases of sexual assault, domestics, child abduction, missing persons and other serious matters. Several charges were laid and in some cases the accused parties were held in custody. Children Services was actively involved in several incidents involving families in Rimbey. If you are aware of a child in danger, please contact the Wetaskiwin Children Services intake worker at (780) 361-4555.
Be aware on thin ice
The RCMP would like to remind everyone to be extremely careful of thin ice when they are out on their snow machines and/or ice fishing in the upcoming weeks. Even if you are wearing heavy winter clothing a human body can only last seconds in freezing cold water. Please use caution around any water this time of year.
