Pet droppings annoying when walking downtown
Dear Editor:
When I was walking downtown Jan. 5 I had to avoid all the pet droppings along the way, including on Main Street. I didn’t have to look hard or far as it was either at the edge or in the middle of the sidewalk. I had a feeling I was in France, not because of the sidewalk cafe, but because I had to be careful not to step in the droppings from pets of unthoughtful owners/caregivers.
Now don’t get me wrong I have nothing against the pets, they don’t know their owners or caregivers are to bag the evidence and dispose of it in the garbage at home. Also, are the owners not required to do the same with the evidence when pets use any were other than the owners or caregivers yard? It would be like me letting my children use public property for a bathroom without walls around them and then walking away.
