Suspect arrested in liquor store robbery
A suspect has been arrested in connection with a robbery at an Innisfail liquor store last week.
Innisfail RCMP said a man wearing a balaclava and blue coveralls walked into a liquor store on the town’s 50th Avenue about 6:15 p.m. on Dec. 28.
The man demanded money from the till and an employee turned over an undisclosed amount of cash.
The suspect did not show a weapon and he took off on foot. Innisfail RCMP said on Monday that a suspect has been arrested.
Kelly John Gregg, 38, of no fixed address, has been charged with robbery and intent to commit an indictable offence.
He is due in Red Deer provincial court Wednesday.
Innocent victim killed in shooting

CALGARY — Police say one of three men fatally shot at a restaurant on New Year’s Day was an innocent bystander caught in a gang war.
Keni Su’a, 43, of Calgary, was dining alone at the Bolsa Restaurant when two people came in and opened fire at three others at another table. Su’a left the restaurant but was confronted by a third suspect and the two from inside and was gunned down.
Deputy Chief Murray Stooke said it is unknown why Su’a, who has no gang ties, was shot.
Sex offences involving Internet dating alleged

GIBBONS — An Alberta man has been charged with alleged sex offences involving a 15-year-old girl he met on the Internet.
Michael Hoffart, 27, of Sherwood Park has been charged with two counts of sexual assault, two counts of sexual interference and two counts of invitation to sexual touching.
Police allege the two met on an online dating website.
Hoffart is to appear in Morinville provincial court Jan. 8.
