After meeting and falling in love five years ago, a Rimbey couple returned to where it all started to tie the knot on Saturday.
Derek and Mandy Sweet-Coulter are the first couple ever to be married at the Rimbey Arena.
The pair met when Derek, 25, was a player with the Rimbey Rock hockey team and Mandy, 21, sang the national anthem at one of his hockey games.
Following the ceremony, the unconventional festivities continued.
During the reception at the Rimbey Community Centre, 150 guests witnessed an extra treat when Mandy got on stage — wedding dress and all — and performed with her band Phil ’N the Blanks featuring Amanda Sweet.
