Artist Max Dean of Toronto watches as his robotic chair stands back up after coming completely apart at the Red Deer Museum and Art Gallery on Monday.

Dean will be on hand today during a sneak peak at the museum from 7 to 9 p.m. Collaborating with engineer and entrepreneur Raffaello D’Andrea and sculptor and industrial designer Matt Donovan, Dean was able to bring his idea of the robotic chair from his mind to reality.

This version of the chair, one of four copies in galleries around the world, is on loan from the National Gallery of Canada until April 11.

After extensive renovations, the museum will open again to the public on Family Day (Monday, Feb. 15) during a grand opening celebration.
