Pedestrian injured on Gaetz Avenue

A 22-year-old man was seriously injured when struck by a truck while running across Gaetz Avenue shortly after midnight today, police said.

The pedestrian, wearing dark-coloured clothing, crossed between intersections north of the 6800 block in Red Deer. He ran westbound and into the path of a southbound Ford pick-up truck.

The man was taken to Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre before being taken by STARS air ambulance to Calgary.

Police said speed and alcohol were not factors in the collision.

Maybe when you get a story get all of it like the fact that he was being chased by a bouncer at branleys bar. All I think is the truth should be told don't cover things up get it all!!!

whuy would you leave out the fact that he was beeing chased. people deserve to know. the family of the man is not at all happy with the bouncer and i know they will do everything they can to make sure the bouncer gets what he deserves.

I agree, we all know that he was being chased onto gaetz. He didnt intentionally run into a truck your painting him as an idiot. Everyone knows the truth there is no reason to hide it, justice will be served!

omg....people grow up. The guy was vandalizing someone's property, he got caught chose to run, no one forced him to run into the traffic. To bad he got hit, hope he's ok. Bet he wont do it again :)

k people how can you say it's the bouncers fault.. he was the one that got kicked out, got mad, hit something and ran. the bouncers did there job right the helped so much when everything went down!!

on another note... the bouncers were the ones to go and help make sure that he was ok... pulling trucks over... calling 911, and making sure they did everything they could to make sure that the guy was allright... so get over your selves!!!!!!

Do any of you know how many times some of these bouncers end up in emergency after work because they have been trying to keep order in the bars for the benefit of their patrons.

I'm not saying I don't feel sorry for the guy that got hit. I really do!! it should of never happend.. but like what marion and mike said it was everyones fault not just one person. and they are write too we need to be thankful Everyone is ok.
