Working hard to get the hill open for the weekend, Canyon Ski Area outdoor operations manager Jason Hand moves a water line feeding one of two large airless snow making guns at the ski hill on Wednesday.

Eight other smaller snow guns were also working during the morning Wednesday in an attempt to get enough coverage on the hill to open for the weekend.

Freezing temperatures are needed to make snow and as long as the mercury dips below zero, snow-making crews will work around the clock to get the hill open for skiers and riders, said Hand.
