Body identified as Thacker

Stettler RCMP have released the name of a man whose body was found in a secluded area west of Big Valley on Sunday.
Lawrence Bruce Thacker, 50, was reported missing from the Innisfail area on Nov. 19. He was last seen driving his pickup truck.
Snowmobilers out for a ride near McKenzie Crossing, where Hwy 590 crosses the Red Deer River, called police at about 7:40 p.m. after finding a body lying on the ground near an abandoned pickup truck.
The Medical Examiner’s office in Calgary confirmed Thacker’s identification on Thursday.
While an investigation continues into the circumstances of his death, police have found no evidence of foul play.
Speaking through the Stettler RCMP, members of Thacker’s family expressed appreciation for the support they received from the community during the search and to the snowmobilers who found his body.
