Three men charged in the first-degree murder of a Red Deer man this spring reserved their pleas on Tuesday.

The charge and a related charge against the trio of being an accessory to murder were adjourned to Aug. 13.

Provincial court Judge John Holmes heard that the lawyers for the accused still require some disclosure.

Chief Crown prosecutor Anders Quist also said he is awaiting more forensic evidence from the RCMP to give the lawyers.

Charles Richard Beckett, 47, of Red Deer and Larry Allen Scott, 51, of Red Deer appeared in the prisoner docket. Brent William Crouse, 44, of Calgary was represented by his lawyer.

Crouse is in custody in Calgary.

The body of Sheldon Mark Hiller, 46, was discovered in a ditch next to Hwy 54, about three km west of Raven, by a passerby on April 17.

The manner of Hiller’s death hasn’t been released by authorities.
