Names released in fatal collision near Caroline
Clearwater County Reeve Dwight Oliver and his wife Donna were among four people injured in a fatal vehicle collision on Mother’s Day.
Dwight Oliver’s mother, Audrey Oliver, 89, and his sister-in-law Penny Oliver, 59, died after the westbound van they were in collided with an eastbound car on Hwy 54 about 10 km east of Caroline at about 5:20 p.m. Sunday.
“It’s very tragic. Our hearts and well wishes and prayers go out to the whole Oliver family, and to the Caroline community,” said Clearwater County manager Brian Irmen on Tuesday.
The reeve and his wife are in Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre.
Rocky Mountain House RCMP say weather, road condition and alcohol were not considered factors in the collision.

Am remembering with affection childhood memories of the Oliver farm and Audrey's quiet leadership in the family reunions. My thoughts are with the family. Thoughts also with Dwight and Donna through their recuperation.
