Police are looking for two suspects who lifted a number of gold bars from a downtown casino early Thursday morning.
Const. Sabrina Grunow, media liaison officer with the Red Deer City RCMP, said video surveillance caught two people entering the Jackpot Casino at 4705 Ross Street.
An undisclosed number of gold bars was reported to have been removed during the break-in.
Police and a police service dog were dispatched to the scene, but did not locate the suspects, said Grunow.
It was not possible to determine the sex of either suspect from the video tape, said Grunow. Both suspects were wearing dark-coloured hoodies and jeans and one was wearing a ball cap. The other suspect was wearing dark-coloured footwear.
Anyone who noticed suspicious activity near the casino or who can provide other information is asked to contact Red Deer City RCMP at 403-343-5575 or call Crime Stoppers, 1-800-222-8477.
