It’s not cool to drink and drive
Re. the Feb. 29 guest opinion by Brenda Cook in the Feb. 29 Advocate, headlined Man rendered paraplegic by drunk driver:
I am the president of the local chapter of Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) and have been working hard with other volunteers on publicizing the harsh reality of the effects of impaired driving on all involved.
We have been running feature stories on victims of impaired driving regularly because we feel it’s time to get tough and stop sugarcoating our message because sometimes it takes the harsh reality for people to get the message that it’s not cool to drink and drive.
If the young man whose life has been so drastically affected by an impaired driver would like to work with MADD, I would love to meet with him and help him get his message out there any way I can.
Together we can stop impaired driving.
