Beaver talk

Dr. Glynnis Hood, with Augustana University in Camrose, will be speaking about her research findings on beavers and their ecology, how they battled the drought and won during the Red Deer River Naturalists meeting set for 7:30 p.m. on Thursday at the Kerry Wood Nature Centre. Soup fundraiser

Soup is on the menu Wednesday at a lunchtime fundraiser for United Way. The United Way Soup Benefit Luncheon will run from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Hub on Ross at 4936 Ross St. Homemade soups, buns, Subway cookies, Tim Hortons coffee, McDonald’s juice and music from Ross Stanford will be available for $5 per person. All proceeds go to United Way.

Dinner Theatre

You Can’t Get There From Here — a family-friendly comedy written by Pat Cook — will be performed by the Innisfail Town Theatre at Ol’ Moose Hall. Dinner theatres will be held on Nov. 27 and 28, Dec. 3 to 5, and Dec. 10 to 12. Doors open at 6 p.m. with show time at 8 p.m. Dinner theatre tickets cost $32 each. A general performance will be offered on Nov. 26 with doors open at 6 p.m., and show time at 7 p.m. Tickets for this performance cost $17. A matinee will be offered on Dec. 6 with the doors opening at noon, and show time at 1 p.m. Matinee tickets cost $17 each. To purchase tickets and for information, phone The Legman at 403-227-5966.
