Video used to prove theft
A woman was caught at a local drugstore on Feb. 6 at 7 p.m. after failing to pay for all the items on her person. She allegedly hid several jewelry items inside her coat and employees confronted the suspect at the front counter. Police attended and arrested her. She was also recognized from security surveillance tapes for allegedly stealing $800 worth of merchandise on Feb. 3 from the same store.
Armed robbery at hotel
Police responded to reports of an armed robbery at a downtown hotel Feb. 9 at 1 a.m.
Four native men entered the bar to buy off sales liquor when one of them wielded a baseball bat and threatened a clerk. Another had what the clerk thought was a gun in his waistband.
The suspects stole some bottles of vodka and drove away in a black four-door sedan. The four men had moments before attempted to buy liquor from another hotel but their credit and debit cards were declined. They told the staff person they would return with money when the clerk decided to lock the doors and call police. They were witnessed from the roof of the hotel grabbing weapons from the car and entering the second hotel.
Police are looking for any information on the robbery and can be contacted at 403-783-4472 or at Crime Stoppers 1-800-222-8477.

RCMP stopped someone matching the description in the parking lot and ran the license plate information on his car. Not only did he have the stolen liquor on his possession but the license plate was also stolen. He was charged with possession of stolen goods.
