Thug convicted

A Hobbema man has been convicted of breaking and entering along with a number of other offences following a home invasion in May 2010.

Eldon Saddleback Jr., 21, of the Montana First Nation, was charged after four thugs forced their way into a residence on the Montana reserve, brandishing firearms and threatening the occupants of the home at approximately 1:50 a.m. on May 25, 2010. The suspects discharged two rounds inside before fleeing.

Saddleback was convicted Feb. 3 in Wetaskiwin provincial court of breaking and entering with intent to commit an indictable offence, aggravated assault and several firearms offences.

Sentencing for Saddleback is scheduled for June 22.
