Mrs. Lyle Russell donated this classic 1916 photo to the Fort Ostell Museum, and it shows a group of district hunters gathering firewood and preparing their camp for a long winter adventure on the prairies.
Notice their trusty horses resting before the hunt, while anxious to lead the boys through the deep snow in search of the big game that will feed their large families through the long winter.
