Ashley Fleming, left, Nicky Myrhaugen and James Yangata light candles to mark World AIDS Day in City Hall Park Wednesday. The event was sponsored by the Central Alberta AIDS Network Society, GrammaLink Africa, Life At Zero Deveopment Canada, Central Alberta Refugee Effort and Shining Mountains Living Community Services. The groups spent the afternoon at the Red Deer Public Library where speakers covered topics about the effects of AIDS and HIV infections locally and globally. Funds raised from donations and the sale of coffee and cupcakes were split between GrammaLink Africa and Life At Zero.
