A speeding ticket was given to the driver of a truck involved in a collision that took out one light standard and damaged another on Hwy 11, near Sylvan Lake, shortly before 11 a.m. on Monday.

Const. Chad Palmer, of the Sylvan Lake RCMP, says the heavy-duty work truck, property of a Rocky Mountain House construction company, was headed westbound on Hwy 11 and failed to negotiate a right turn to proceed north on Hwy 20.

The impact bent the light standard over the front of the truck and a second light standard was damaged when the first one came down.

There were no injuries.
