Sporting a tiny plastic Irish top hat, Kali looks as though she just doesn’t quite know what all the fuss is about as Jimi Nelson, five, holds her outside their home in Deer Park on Tuesday. Jimi, along with her grandmother, Maggie Hewitt, decorated a festive tree complete with banners, shamrocks, and costume jewelry to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. Once the day is over the family intends to switch to an Easter theme. Over the year the front lawn on Dennison Cres. is the scene of a rotating seasonal display which includes large displays at Halloween and Christmas which draw onlookers from around the city.
